Femtosecond laser inscription of polarized-sensitive volume phase grating in nanoporous glass

With the growth of laser technologies in photonics, application ultrashort becomes promising and prospective for volume phase elements fabrication transparent materials. Femtosecond writing (FLW) was applied polarized-sensitive gratings (VPGs) inscription a nanoporous silicate matrix (NPSM). The VPGs formed had thickness L = 54 ± 0.5 μm 77 μm, showed diffraction efficiency 8% 14% respectively. an NPSM demonstrated polarization sensitivity resulting different efficiencies from 2 to 14%. Moreover, impregnation plate with distilled water, 50% acetone 10% investigated. achieved results provide evidence possibility VPG be as sensor.
